ATTY/RESO.0069/PC RESO APPROVING ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT AT UNION CEMETERY <br />REV: 06-28-18 PR <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 18-13 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY APPROVING AN ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT AT <br />UNION CEMETERY TO CONSTRUCT AN INFORMATIONAL KIOSK <br />IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />ORDINANCE AND ZONING ORDINANCE AN D FINDING THAT SAID <br />APPROVAL IS EXEMPT FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE <br />CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Historic Union Cemetery Association (Applicant), has applied for <br />an Architectural Permit to construct an informational kiosk (Project) at Union Cemetery <br />(APN: 053-301-010) in Redwood City, California; and <br />WHEREAS, Union Cemetery is a designated California State Landmark, is on <br />the National Register of Historic Places, and is a Redwood City Landmark; and <br />WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the City Code) <br />requires that the HRAC review all improvements to designated historic landmarks and <br />make a recommendation to the Planning Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, Article 45 of the Zoning Ordinance requires that all exterior site <br />improvements to nonresidential uses requires the review and approval of an <br />Architectural Permit; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 14, 2018, the HRAC held a duly noticed public hearing in <br />accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and <br />the Redwood City Municipal Code to review the Project, and adopted HRAC Resolution <br />18-02 by a vote of 4-0 (Vice Chair Roche absent) recommending approval of Option B <br />as described in the staff report to Planning Commission of the Architectural Permit; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 6, 2018, a public hearing notice was published in the San <br />Mateo Daily Journal and mailed to interested parties and all property owners within 300 <br />feet of the Property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 17, 2018, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed <br />public hearing in accordable with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and <br />Zoning Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Zoning Ordinance to consider <br />the Project. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS:
