DES:yc:3/fJ/71 ORIGINAL IiI'R 12 '71 ORD..!.NANCE N O. /'1- 1'7 AN ORDINANCE A}1E~~ING SECTIONS 28.3, 28.4, 28.4.1, 28.5, 28.6, 28.8, 28.9, 28.11, 28.18, 28.19 AND 28.20 OF, AND ADDING SECTION 28.15.1 TO, TIm CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO PE~lITS FOR SOLICITORS, PEDDLERS AND CHARITABLE SALES THE COUNCIL OF REm'looD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. section 28.3 of the Code of the City of Redwood city is hereby amended to read as follows: It is hereby declared unlawful for any "Section 28.3 person to solicit or peddle within the ,City unless he first obtains an identification permit to do so from the Chief of Police as provided in this article. Such permit shall be in addition to any business license required. "It is hereby further declared unlawful for any person holding a permit issued under this article to refuse or fail to wear properly, and at the times required, the identifica- tion badge described in Section 28.9." SECTION 2. Section 28.4 of the Code of the City of Redwood city is hereby amended to read as follows: The identification permit to conduct "Section 28.4 the business of a solicitor or peddler shall only be issued by the Chief of Police upon application therefor, and after an investigation is made by him. In making the investiga- tion the Chief of police shall be furnished the following information and records by the applicant: "(a) Name and description of applicant. "(b) Address--legal and local (if any) . n(c) A brief description of the nature of the business, and the goods, wares~ merchandise and services to be sold or furnished. '----- r
