<br /> DES: djm 12/1.4/89 (005/#8) <br /> DES:djm 12 8/89R <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2008 JAN 8 1990 <br /> --------- <br /> ORDINANCE APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO FRANCHISE <br /> AGREEMENTS WITH BROWNING-FERRIS INDUSTRIES OF <br /> CALIFORNIA, INC. FOR SOLID WASTE COLLECTION <br /> SERVICES AND RECYCLING SERVICES, RESPECTIVELY, TO <br /> PROVIDE INCREASES IN RATES CHARGEABLE FOR SERVICES <br /> PURSUANT THERETO <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City and Browning-Ferris <br />Industries of California, Inc. , entered into an agreement <br />effective as of October 1, 1987 pursuant to which said company <br />was granted the franchise to collect solid waste in the City of <br />Redwood City (the "Collection Agreement"); and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to agreement between said company and the <br />City, effective as of August 25, 1988, said company was granted <br />the franchise to collect and process recyclable materials <br />collected within the City of Redwood City (the "Recycling <br />Agreemen t" ) ; and <br /> WHEREAS, Exhibit B of the Collection Agreement sets forth <br />the rates of charge for providing sanitary inspections and <br />collection services in the City of Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, increases in said charges reflecting increased <br />costs of operation have been recommended to this Council; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. Exhibit B of the Collection Agreement is hereby <br />amended, replaced and superceded by the Exhibit attached hereto, <br />likewise marked Exhibit B, and by this reference incorporated <br />herein. <br /> _. -...-...,....... <br />
