12/02/02 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> ORD~NANC£ NO. 2242 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE REDWOOD <br /> CITY MUNICIPAL CODE; ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO <br /> THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO FIRE <br /> PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE AND AS AMENDED <br /> THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 2000 EDITION," AS PUBLISHED BY THE <br /> WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Article II of Chapter 12 of the Redwood City Municipal Code is hereby <br />repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. A new Article II is hereby added in its entirety to Chapter 12 of the <br />Redwood City Municipal Code, to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "ARTICLE II <br /> <br /> FIRE PREVENTION CODE <br /> <br /> Sec. 12.7. ADOPTION; CONFLICTS. <br /> <br /> A. Pursuant to Sections 50002.1 et seq., of the California Government Code and <br /> Section 15 of the Charter of the City, the 'Uniform Fire Code, 2000 Edition <br /> (including appendices divisions I, II, III, IV, V, VI-A, VI-B, VI-C, VI-D, VI-G, VI-H, <br /> VI-I, VI-J and VI-K), as published by the Western Fire Chiefs Association, is <br /> hereby adopted and shall be in effect within the City to the same extent as set <br /> out in full herein, except as expressly amended by the provisions of this Article. <br /> <br /> B. In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the Fire Code and the <br /> provisions of this Article, the latter shall govern. <br /> <br /> Sec. 12.8. DEFINITIONS. <br /> <br /> The following words or terms as used in the Fire Code and herein shall be deemed <br />to have the meanings respectively ascribed thereto: <br /> <br /> ADMINISTRATOR: Means the City Manager. <br /> <br /> APPROVED: Unless otherwise stated, shall mean approved by the Chief. <br /> <br />f:Atty/Ord/Ord. 166 1 <br />040803 <br /> <br /> <br />
