12/02/02 <br /> <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2241 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE <br /> IX, DIVISIONS 1, 2 AND 3 OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND <br /> ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS 1 AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF <br /> THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT <br /> OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND <br /> STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY <br /> REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING <br /> CODE 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, <br /> 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; <br /> "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 2000 EDITION"; "THE <br /> UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 2000 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM <br /> ADMINISTRATIVE CODE PROVISIONS FOR THE NATIONAL <br /> ELECTRICAL CODE, 1996 EDITION"; "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL <br /> CODE, 1999 EDITION"; AND "THE UNIFORM CODE FOR BUILDING <br /> CONSERVATION, 1997 EDITION" <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Articles IV, V, VI VII, VIII and IX, Divisions 1,2 and 3 of Chapter 9 of the <br />Redwood City Municipal Code are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Article IV of Chapter 9 of the Redwood City Municipal Code is hereby <br />added to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "ARTICLE IV. BUILDING CODES <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.40. ADOPTION BY REFERENCE; CONFLICTING PROVISIONS: <br /> <br /> A. Pursuant to Section 50022.1, et seq., of the Government Code and <br /> Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, the following codes, <br /> standards and regulations are hereby adopted and shall be in effect within <br /> the City to the same extent as if set out in full herein, except as expressly <br /> amended by the provisions of this Article: <br /> <br /> (1) The Uniform Building Code, Volumes 1, 2, and 3, 1997 Edition, as <br /> published by the International Conference of Building Officials. Appendix <br /> to Chapter 3, Division II; Chapter 4, Division I, Chapter 15, Chapter 18, <br /> Chapter 31, Divisions II and III, Chapter 33, and Chapter 34, Division III, <br /> are specifically adopted and shall be enforceable to the same extent as if <br /> contained in the body of this Code.
