INDEMNITY AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SAN JOSE <br />AND <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into on the date it is fully executed ("Effective <br />Date") by and between the CITY OF SAN JOSE, a municipal corporation ("CITY"), and <br />the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation ("REDWOOD CITY"). <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, CITY's Police Department runs a Police Academy, which is a 32 -week <br />program for the June 2026 SJ56 academy that consists of weekly training in local and <br />California law, manipulative skills, scenario training, and physical conditioning; and <br />WHEREAS, REDWOOD CITY Police Department desires to enroll five of their police <br />recruits into the CITY's Police Academy ("San Jose Police Academy"); and <br />WHEREAS, REDWOOD CITY Police Department will provide uniform, supplies, and <br />equipment for their police recruits; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY will permit REDWOOD CITY to enroll five police recruits into the San <br />Jose Police Academy provided that REDWOOD CITY pays CITY a recruitment fee for <br />each recruit and executes this indemnity and hold harmless agreement; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these mutual covenants herein, the parties <br />hereto agree as follows: <br />SECTION 1. USE OF THE SAN JOSE POLICE ACADEMY. <br />REDWOOD CITY will enroll five police recruits into the San Jose Police Academy <br />throughout the term of this AGREEMENT. <br />SECTION 2.
