INDEMNITY AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN JOSE AND THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into on the date it is fully executed ("Effective Date") by and between the CITY OF SAN JOSE, a municipal corporation ("CITY"), and the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation ("REDWOOD CITY"). RECITALS WHEREAS, CITY's Police Department runs a Police Academy, which is a 32 -week program for the June 2026 SJ56 academy that consists of weekly training in local and California law, manipulative skills, scenario training, and physical conditioning; and WHEREAS, REDWOOD CITY Police Department desires to enroll five of their police recruits into the CITY's Police Academy ("San Jose Police Academy"); and WHEREAS, REDWOOD CITY Police Department will provide uniform, supplies, and equipment for their police recruits; and WHEREAS, CITY will permit REDWOOD CITY to enroll five police recruits into the San Jose Police Academy provided that REDWOOD CITY pays CITY a recruitment fee for each recruit and executes this indemnity and hold harmless agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these mutual covenants herein, the parties hereto agree as follows: SECTION 1. USE OF THE SAN JOSE POLICE ACADEMY. REDWOOD CITY will enroll five police recruits into the San Jose Police Academy throughout the term of this AGREEMENT. SECTION 2. TERM OF AGREEMENT. The term of this AGREEMENT shall be from June 22, 2026, and shall continue in effect until January 29, 2027, or earlier pursuant to the terms of Section 8.
