P-1345 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PORT COMMISSIONERS OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR ELECTIVE COVERAGE OF <br /> DISABILITY INSURANCE UNDER SECTION 709 OF THE <br /> CALIFORNIA UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE CODE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 709 of the California Unemployment <br />Insurance Code provides that any local public entity located in <br />the State specified in Section 135(a)(3) of said Code may elect <br />to become 'an employer for disability insurance purposes only, <br />with respect to all its employees, including those with civil <br />service or tenure positions, or appointed positions and may file <br />its written election to that effect; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Board hereby elects, on its own motion, to <br />become an employer for disability insurance purposes, only, <br />pursuant to said Unemployment Insurance Code, and has reviewed an <br />application prepared for filing with the Director of Employment <br />Development of the State of California to that effect, and <br /> <br />desires to approve and authorize the filing thereof; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PORT COMMISSIONERS OF THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF <br />CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. This Board does hereby elect, pursuant to Section 709 of <br />the California Unemployment Insurance Code, to become an employer <br />for disability insurance purposes only, with respect to all <br />employees of the Port of Redwood City, including those, if any, <br />with civil service or tenure positions. <br /> <br /> <br />
