RD-83-02 RD 83-02 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AGREEING TO WORK WITH THE SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT RELATING TO FUTURE FINANCIAL <br /> IMPACTS ASSOCIATED WITH REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT NO. 2 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District <br />provides a significant public benefit to the City of Redwood City <br />including that part of the City located within the Project Area of <br />the Redevelopment Project No. 2; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redwood City <br />recognizes that the use of tax increment financing for Redevelop- <br />ment Project No. 2 has the potential of restricting tax revenues <br />available to the San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Agency has the authority, pursuant to Community <br />Redevelopment Law (Health and Safety Code Section 33401), to <br />provide the San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District with <br />financial assistance based on a determination by the Agency that <br />such assistance is necessary to alleviate any financial burden or <br />detriment caused by such redevelopment project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Agency finds that the maintenance of a <br /> <br />financially stable San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District <br />is in the best interest of the Project No. 2 Area and of the <br />surrounding community, and that such stability could be promoted <br />by the exercise of the discretionary powers set forth in Health <br />and Safety Codes Section 33401, as described above; <br /> <br /> RD-83-02 <br /> <br /> <br />
