RESOLUTION N . 12- A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING THE INITIAL STUDY MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE AIRGAS FACILITY RELOCATION PROJECT; AND ADOPTING CEQA FINDINGS OF FACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT WHEREAS, EAS, Airgas currently operates an existing facility located at 50 Chemical Way and desires to relocate to 1826 Industrial Way; and WHEREAS, Airgas has applied for approval of a Use Permit to allow the relocation of the existing facility to the 1. -acre project Site, resulting in the demolition of an existing 8 ,300 square foot ore -story office building and renovation of the existing ting 9,900 square foot warehouse building. The new Airgas facility would allow for warehouse and outdoor storage, distribution, wholesale, and retail activities the "Project"); and WHEREAS, the City has caused the preparation of an Initial Study Mitigated Negative Declaration for the proposed Airgas Facility Relocation Project (the "IS MND pursuant to the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code Section 21 000 et seq.; hereafter, "CE " ), the Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act {Title 14, Sections 15000 et seq. of the California Code of Regulations; hereafter, the "CE QA Guidelines"); and WHEREAS, EAS, fr r November 30, 2011 through January g, 2012 the City held a public review period on the Notice of Intent to Adopt A Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Airgas Facility Relocation Project IS MND ("NO]"). The City mailed, published and posted on its we site the N01 to notify responsible agencies, the State Office of Planning and Research, Surrounding property owners and tenants, neighborhood association chairpersons and interested parties that an ISMND is available for review for the Project; and WHEREAS, EAS, the ISM D for the proposed Project "IS MND" was circulated for public revie w and comment for 40 days beginning on November 30, 2011 and ending on January g, 2012, and was filed with the State Office of Planning & Research under State Clearinghouse No. 2011122003; and WHEREAS, o January 31, 2012, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and received public testimony on the IS /BIND. The City did not receive any letters and/or erails from the public or responsible agencies during the ISMND public review period.
