ATTACHMENT I RESOLUTION NO. 14-09 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING A PLANNED COMMUNITY PERMIT FOR ONE MARINA HOTEL AT 650 BAIR ISLAND ROAD PURSUANT TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PENINSULA PARK PRECISE PLAN WHEREAS, Applicant, OTO Development, has submitted an application for a Planned Community Permit for a 5-story, 177-room hotel at 650 Bair Island Road (the Project) which is within the Peninsula Park Precise Plan area; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City (Planning Commission) is empowered by the Peninsula Park Precise Plan to act upon Planned Community (PC) Permit applications; and WHE, EAS, on February 13, 2014, the Architectural Advisory Committee (AAC) held a meeting to consider the proposed project, and found that the proposed project is consistent with the general intent of the Precise Plan and recommended approval to the Planning Commission with some minor design modifications; and WHEREAS, in 2004, the City of Redwood City certified the Final Environmental Impact Report for the original Marina Shores Village project (State Clearinghouse #2002022076) (EIR) and in 2007, an Addendum to the EIR (Addendum No. 1) was prepared for the Peninsula Park Precise Plan; and WHEREAS, in 2014 a Revised Addendum No. 2 to the EIR (Addendum No. 2) was prepared and considered by the City in approving the Pete's Harbor Planned Development Project and associated tentative map; and WHEREAS, on June 3, 2014, the Planning Commission conducted a duly noticed public hearing, in accordance with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Peninsula Park Precise Plan to consider approval of Planned Community Permit Application No. PC2014-01; and WHEREAS, on June 3, 2014, the Planning Commission considered an Initial Study checklist prepared by the City and its findings, the previously certified EIR, Addendum No, 1, Addendum No. 2, the staff reports, oral and written, and testimony and materials presented by all those wishing to be heard on this Project at the public hearing on this matter; and WHEREAS, the Commission has determined that the Planned Community Permit would further the purposes of and appropriately implement the City of Redwood City General Plan, applicable provisions of the Redwood City Municipal Code and Peninsula Park Precise Plan, and the One Marina Hotel Project at 650 Bair Island Road.
