REG:yc: l/24/63-7 <br /> :�. .��:'�.� <br /> O R D I N A N C E N O. <br /> ORDINANCE REGULATZNG THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS, <br /> EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FOR THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY, AND FOR THE DOING OF ANY PUBLIC WORK; <br /> ESTABLISHING A PROCEDURE FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br /> MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES; ESTABLISHING <br /> A COMPETITIVE BIDDING PROCEDURE; AND REPEALING <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 797 <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN A� FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION l. Biddinct Required. (a) All materials, equipment, <br /> and supplies costing more than Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) <br /> shall be purchased in the open market on the basis of competitive <br /> bidding in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> (b) Any pub lic work or improvement costing more than Two <br /> Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) shall be contracted for in accordance <br /> with Section 67 of the Redwood City Charter unless such work or <br /> improvement is performed by a department authorized to execute <br /> such work or improvement directly as provided in Section 67 or <br /> unless the work is performed as provided in Section 68 of the <br /> Charter. The procedure pertaining to the purchase of materials, <br /> equipment and supplies having an estimated cost in excess of <br /> Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) shall be followed in the award <br /> of contracts for public works and improvement s wherever appli- <br /> cable . <br /> �ECTION 2. 5pecif ications. Before any contract for the <br /> purchase of any materials, equipment or supplies is advertised <br /> for bid, the Department Head for whom such materials, equipment <br /> or supplies are being purchased shall submit specifications <br /> therefor to the City Manager for approval. Such specifications <br /> shall include the type, quality, quantity and, whenever practi- <br /> cable, the date, place and method of delivery of the materials, <br /> equipment or supplies to be purchased. <br /> i�,� <br /> �� <br /> � <br />
