<br /> ORIGINAL <br /> AGREEMENT FOR INDUSTRIAUCOMMERCIAL INSPECTION SERVICES FOR <br />THE SAN MATEO COUNTYWIDE STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PROGRAM IN THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY <br />This agreement is made and entered into on the 1st day of December, 1995 between the City of <br />Redwood City and the San Mateo County Department of Health Services, Environmental Health Services <br />Division, hereinafter referred to as the "COUNTY", through its duly authorized representative, the <br />Environmental Health Services Division Director. The effective date of this agreement is December 1, 1995. <br />A. RECITALS AND PURPOSES <br />1. The City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County (C/CAG), the County of San Mateo <br />and the 20 incorporated cities in San Mateo County, as co-permittees were issued a National Pollutant <br />Discharge Elimination System Permit for the discharge of storm water to San Francisco Bay and the Pacific <br />Ocean on September 14, 1993 (NPDES Permit No. CA0029921). <br />2. NPDES Permit No. CA0029921 requires the implementation of the "San Mateo County Storm Water <br />Management Plan 1993 - 1998", dated June 18, 1993. <br />3. The storm water management plan requires that the City Develop and implement a program to inspect <br />commercial and industrial facilities throughout the City for compliance with the NPDES Permit. <br />4. The City of Redwood City is a municipal corporation of the State of California with the authority to control <br />the discharge of surface waters from its jurisdiction. <br />5. The City of Redwood City is authorized by Section 51300, et seq, of the Government Code of the State <br />of California to contract for the implementation of the activities contemplated by this agreement. <br />6. Power Under Ordinance. The authority for these inspections is derived from the County's Stormwater <br />Pollution Prevention Ordinance and the City of Redwood City Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program <br />Ordinance. <br />B.
