It was de- <br />cided by general assent that-the show would be co-sponsored by the <br />commission and the society, since the commission had no intenti~n <br />of forcing the society out ot the picture, but only to make certain, <br />the city's children had a chance to participate in such a show. Mr. <br />Morton was directed to go ahead with details, and to contact Mr. <br />Carl Britschgi, president of the Humane Society. <br /> <br />The matter of the use of the new Sequoia Union High School <br />tennis courts by the public was settled with the announcement of a <br />plan by Mr. Morton, under which the public will be permitted on the <br />courts on presentation of a card, at certain hours. The cards were <br />to be issued free of charge at the recreation office. The courts <br />were to open the first Sunday in May, he said. <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />The matter-of lighting school grounds still had not been sett- <br />led between the city manager and school officials. Legality of <br />spending funds from the city treasury on the improvement of school <br />property was the problem. <br /> <br />It was decided to improve the present pistol range to make it <br />suitable for an archery range, in lieu of the proposal to light the <br /> <br />-- ..~~. .
