COMMIS-SION OF DECEMB~g, Iill <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman H. S. Stout at 7:S~ p.m. <br /> <br />Present: Commissioners Elouise Campbell, Catharine Brennan, Ralph Case, <br />Irving Go]4d, Vtncent Rambo, lYilliam Hanle:r and Chairman H. S. Stout. <br /> <br />The minutes of the November meeting were approved RS mailed. <br /> <br />Santa Claus corsages were given to members of the Commission by Mrs. <br />Vera Eskin. - <br />. The Commis sioners all expres.sed their sincere thanks to Mrs. Eskin for <br />her kind thoughts. <br /> <br />Warren Terreberry of 946 King Street appeared before the C~ission <br />requesting that red rock paths at Community Park from Vera Avenue and the <br />Park path to the bridge thence to Myrtle Streets be fixed before the <br />rain. This job was done a few years ago, but it is in need of more <br />red rock at this time in order that the children can get to school with-- <br />out getting their shoes full of Rdobe. <br />A.lfred ~1 orton said that he \vould contact the Ci ty Manager and endeavor <br />to get the work done by the Street Department. <br /> <br />MSC by Co~missioners Hanley and Brennan that a letter be sent to the <br />City Council requesting that this work be done. <br /> <br />.A letter from the City Attorney on Ordinance 752 making the Recreation <br />Commission R seven man board, instead of nine. <br />MSC by Co~issioners Rambo and Hanley that the Commission refer this <br />ordinance back to the City Council stating that the ordinance should <br />read a seven man board to include 5 males and two femRles. <br /> <br />Letter from the WbbdsldeoiBPraoB mmprovemen~5g1aàkra~ommeñaĆnseth6o~ <br />t~<a!1t!¡:fet;~)DfRthevHawe.sn#ba- for the same portion of land at the Goodwin <br />School site. <br />Chairman Stout instructed the Secretary to send a letter of thanks to <br />the Club for their interest in this matter. <br /> <br />Letter from Phil Dorst of the Peninsula Homes Softball tea~ requesting <br />permissio~ to erect a concession stand at Hawes Park for the softball <br />game s . <br />MSC by Com~issioners Rambo and Hanley that a committee be appointed to <br />investigate the matter. <br />Chairman H. 3. Stout appointed Commissioners Hanley and Brennan to ~ake <br />a report and bring back their findings at the January meeting. . <br /> <br />Alfred 1~orton reported that the plans and specificationR for the heater <br />at the swimming pool have been approved by the City Building Inspector <br />and turned back to the Ci ty Engineer \vho in turn has Rubmi tted th.em to <br />the City Attorney to check. He advised that the plans 'would be ready <br />to subrni t to the Ci ty GO11!1ci I in the next few \veeks. <br /> <br />Morton also reported that due to the installation of the heater at the <br />pool there \vould be addi tional expense in heating the pool R,nd he <br />recommended that the swimming instruction rates be raised frot1. $1.40 <br />to $2.00 for ten lessons. <br /> <br />
