Meeting adjourned at 9:10 p.m. Louise Tornell, Secretary Minutes - Regular Meeting, May 1, 1963 REDWOOD CITY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION The meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairman Alyn Beals. The following commissioners were present: Alyn Beals, James Knecht, Maurice Schutz, Catherine Brennan, Stan Sugarman and Robert Whitmore. Noted absent: Louise Tornell. Also present: Alfred Morton, Don Dimitratos and Bill Shewry. The minutes of the April 3,1963, meeting were approved. Mrs. Tanin Elgin and Mrs. Margaret Streets, representing the Redwood City Parents Nursery located in Community Park, asked permission to erect another storage shed next to the two they have now. Mr. Morton will check with the building inspector for his approval. Mr. Morton has no objection providing it is put on skids for easy moving, if necessary. A letter was received from the City Manager stating that the corner lots at Jefferson & Farm Hill Blvd. cannot be sold because of a clause in the deed that the land must be used for park property and facilities or the land will revert to former owners. Bill Shewry presented a map and plan for Mezes Park landscaping and the commission decided to hold this in abeyance until the budget is approved. ' MSC Knecht and Sugarman that a lett~r be written to the City Manager requesting temporary meaSUIeS be taken to level off and grade the parking area at the end of Myrtle as Little League season starts June 2nd. . Alfred Mor,ton invited the commissioners to the District IV meeting and dinner to be held at the Veterans Memorial Building on May 9th. The program is to be presented by the 'Fun After Fifty Club. Bill Shewry reported that landscaping on the islands at Farm Hill Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue is started. Two benches have been installed at Dove Beeger Park and it is ready for dedication. ' Alfred Morton reported that the City Council has given the model airplane group permission to use the 4ger field until there is a permanent place selected for their use. James Knecht asked for more bleachers for May 19th and Mr. Morton said they will have them up for the games. Catherine Brennan invited the commissióners to attend the dedication
