Minutes of Regular Meeting of Park & Recreation Commission May 5, 1965 7:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Alyn Beals at 7:30p.m. ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Commissioners Alyn Beals, Doris Thompson, Jack Stuart, James Knecht, Louise Tor- nell, Jasper Sipes and Robert Whitmore. Also noted present were Red Morton, Recreation Director, Assistant Park Superin- tendent William Shewry, Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini and Clerk Sandra Kuhn. Minutes were approved with corrections as noted. CORRESPONDENCE: Letter read from Assistant City Manager suggesting that there be . a time allocation of one-half hour at each regularly sche- duled Park & Recreation meeting to discuss Progress on Red- wood Shores. Correspondence from Bill Shewry regarding Community Park and the 4ger Field, stating each department's responsibilities in getting the field ready to practice on by the middle of Aug. Letter from Bill Shewry regarding Whipple Street Tree Planting, explaining the departments involved, and what their job is to be, concerning planting the trees. PERSONAL APPEARANCES: Mr. Howard Ullrich, project Manager for Redwood Shores appeared to explain that on May 4 the Planning Commission held its last public hearing on Redwood Shores. It successfully passed, and the Planning Director was directed to transmit it to the City Council. The Clerk has put an item on the Agenda for Monday, May 10, for the City Council Meeting, which will set the first public hearing. Mr. Ullrich went on to say that a long session was held with the school people. The Planning Commission made a motion which carried to the Council recommending that the independ- ent commission of finance be formed with the school authori-
