It was <br />suggested that discussion for acquiring additional barbecue tables <br />be set for the September agenda. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER THOMPSON inquired into-the IIfree swim II program and was <br />told that it had been fine; and that Sunrise Lions had purchased <br />tickets several times also and distributed them to children in the <br />target area; that a report would be provided Commission at the end of <br />the season; suggested that .the matter of recommending to Council re <br />re-aligning of bicycle route through city, in some instances to less <br />heavy traffic streets be an agenda item for October. <br /> <br />CHAIRMAN WHITMORE told that he had gone to Vancouver for the Junior <br />Soccer teams championships and told of the outstanding recognition <br />gained by the Juventus Junior Soccer Team of Redwood City, noting <br />that while our team did not win the championship, it was outstanding <br />for its participation, soccer skill, sportsmanship and conduct, and <br />'should be commended. <br /> <br />Commissioner Knecht moved to recommend that a letter of commendation <br />be sent to the Juventus Junior Soccer Team, seconded by Commissioner <br />Thompson, and passed.
