<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Minutes of Wednesday, April 22, 1992 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Chairperson Slusser, <br />Commissioners Davis, Howard, <br />Mortensen, Swope and Truscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />Commissioner Hordness <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Senior Affairs Commissioner <br />Vince Truscelli <br /> <br />Park and Recreation <br />Superintendent Sally Hartman, <br />Management Analyst Ramon Aguilar <br />and Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order at 7:35pm by Chairperson Bob Slusser in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the March meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-A letter was received inviting the Commission to Opening Day Ceremonies of <br />the Redwood City National Little League on Saturday, April 25 at 10:00am at <br />Hawes School. <br /> <br />-Commissioner Davis referred to a copy of a letter which was sent to Director <br />Griffiths from Eva Lyssand regarding availability of playing fields for youth <br />soccer. Commissioner Davis said he wrote a letter of response to Director <br />Griffiths and would like a copy of his letter forwarded to the Commissioners. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - Public Hearing on Belmont School Site - M~ 18 <br /> <br />Superintendent Hartman said she spoke with Director Griffiths and that May 18 <br />is not a firm date for the scheduled meeting between the City Council and the <br />Belmont Elementary School District. Director Griffiths will contact the <br />Commissioners next week to confirm the meeting date. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - Union Cemetery Update <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope reported the proposal from Peak & Associates was received <br />and a copy was sent out to all the Commissioners, all members of the Union <br />Cemetery Committee, Charles Jany and Thad Van Bueren. Any comments regarding <br />the proposal were due today and were to be turned into Management Analyst <br />Ramon Aguilar, who was recently apPointed project manager of the Union <br />Cemetery Project by the City Manager. <br /> <br />
