Shirley Masters, Roy <br />Singley and Vincent Truscelli <br /> <br />Director Peter Griff1ths and <br />Analyst Ramon Aguilar <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to order <br />at 7:30pm by Chairperson Don Davis in Room 4 of the Community Activities <br />Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the May meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />There was no correspondence. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - Union Cemetery Chronological Su8Iary <br /> <br />Analyst Aguilar explained that the summary report was developed from <br />departmental files and represented only the Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Department1s involvement with Union Cemetery. The report did not <br />attempt to list numerous contributions made by interested local community <br />groups and/or individuals. <br /> <br />Nita Spangler objected to various parts of the chronology listed and <br />submitted additional information for integration into the summary report at a <br />later date. Chairperson Davis thanked Mrs. Spangler for the new information <br />and encouraged anyone else who wished to submit additional information for <br />the chronology to do so. <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - Comments on Union Cemetery - Comœlss10ner Swope <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope explained that she had learned from staff that the Civic <br />Cultural Commission wanted to be kept informed about developments at Union <br />Cemetery, but would defer to Parks and Recreation Commission on matters <br />pertaining to the cemetery. She also explained that the Planning Commission <br />was deferring Union Cemetery issues to its Historic Resources Advisory <br />Committee. Commissioner Swope expressed her concern that a piecemeal <br />approach to Union Cemetery needed to be avoided and supported development of <br /> <br /> <br />
