' <br />:I: I <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF OCTOBER 26, 1994 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Swope, Commissioners <br />Davis, Morton, Nordness, Slusser, <br />and Truscelli <br /> <br />CO MMISSI 0 NERS AB SENT: <br /> <br />Commissioner Howard <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Director Griffiths and Secretary Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Swope at 7:30pm in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />A moment of silence was held in memory of our former City Manager Jim <br />Smith. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the September meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />- Each Commissioner received an invitation to the annual meeting of the <br />Historic Union Cemetery Association (HUCA) to be held on SaturdaYJ <br />November 5 from 1-3pm at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. <br /> <br />ITEM 1- BELMONT SCHOOL DISTRICT UPDATE <br /> <br />Director Griffiths reported that three meetings have been held over the past <br />month regarding this project. One meeting was with the Belmont School <br />District and another meeting was with Landscape Architect Philip Singer to <br />develop two alternative designs of the site. Each design included a re- <br />configuration of the parking lot and the removal of the maintenance facility. <br />The third meeting with was the Regatta Homeowner's Association and <br />members of the Redwood Shores School Committee to review the two new <br />designs. The Regatta representatives will meet with their association and will <br />have their final comments back to Director Griffiths by November 3. The <br />next scheduled meeting with the Belmont School District will be held <br />November lOt <br /> <br />
