<br />t <br /> <br />ï <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF JUNE 28, 1995 <br /> <br />CO MMISS lONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Swope I Co mmissio n erg <br />Davis, Hughes, Morton, Slusser, and <br />T ruscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Nordness <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Supervisor Mike Gibbons <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Susan Swope at 7:35pm in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the March 1 Fund Raising meeting, and the April 26 and <br />May 24 regular meetings were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-A letter was received from the Peninsula Celebration Association advising <br />the Commission of their placement in Division II, Position 60 in the 4th of <br />July Parade. The Commissioners need to meet no later than 9:50am on <br />Howland Street prior to the parade. The Commissioners will be riding in a <br />classic vehicle provided by Mr. Bill Mann and Commissioner Hughes agreed <br />to contact Mr. Mann to give him the placement information. <br /> <br />-A copy of a Project Proposal Application for Union Cemetery Historic Site <br />was received from Ramon Aguilar for the Commissionerts review. This <br />matter will be placed on the July agenda. <br /> <br />ITEM 1- DEVELOPMENT OF FY95-96 COMMISSION WORKPLAN <br /> <br />Chairperson Swope explained that in March 1989, the City Council asked the <br />Park and Recreation Commission to develop a strategic plan to be included in <br />the City's General Strategic Plan. The Commission formed a sub-committee <br />to develop the plan which was completed in November 1989. She noted that <br />the plan was reviewed by the Civic Cultural Commission, Senior Affairs <br />Commission, Fair Oaks Advisory Board, and staff before it was finalized. <br />Chairperson Swope suggested that the Commissioners each review the <br />Commission's 1989 Strategic Plan, make comments / revisions / ideas and <br /> <br />
