PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES OF AUGUST 23, 1995 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Swope, Commissioners Davis, Morton, Slusser, and Truscelli COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner N ordness GUESTS PRESENT: Civic Cultural Commissioner Tamara Piulle, Bernie Nevin STAFF PRESENT: Director Peter Griffiths, Recreation Supervisor Bill Wooten, Secretary Denise Monroe The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairperson Susan Swope at 7:35pm in Room 5 of the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. APPROV AL OF MINUTES Chairperson Swope requested the following corrections to the July minutes. The first correction is under Item 2; the word Itallow" in the motion should be replaced with "authorize", The second correction is under Item 2, fifth paragraph, fourth sentence; the word "she" should be replaced with "Ms. W eberlt. CORRESPONDENCE -Chairperson Swope received a letter from San Mateo County AlA stating their organization's interest in providing various services. The letter was given to Director Griffiths for further attention. ITEM 1 - DISCUSSION OF LETTER FROM A YSO Recrea tion Supervisor Bill Wooten said he reviewed the letter from A YSO offering to pay for field renovation costs for the Kennedy School ballfield. He explained he was at a field assignment meeting in February when Jed Dugish of AYSO inquired about AYSO helping pay to renovate Kermedy School soccer fields if the Park Division performed the work, similar to what they did with Little League. Mr. Dugish asked how much it would cost and Supervisor Wooten stated he would need to check with the Park Division staff to obtain the necessary cost information. Mr. Dugish agreed to check with Frank Hartman of the Redwood City Elementary School District to get permission for the field renovation and to find out the status of the irrigation system at Kennedy School ballfield.
