<br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF AUGUST 23, 1995 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Swope, Commissioners <br />Davis, Morton, Slusser, and Truscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />Commissioner N ordness <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Civic Cultural Commissioner Tamara Piulle, <br />Bernie Nevin <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Director Peter Griffiths, Recreation Supervisor Bill <br />Wooten, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Susan Swope at 7:35pm in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROV AL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Chairperson Swope requested the following corrections to the July minutes. <br />The first correction is under Item 2; the word Itallow" in the motion should <br />be replaced with "authorize", The second correction is under Item 2, fifth <br />paragraph, fourth sentence; the word "she" should be replaced with "Ms. <br />W eberlt. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-Chairperson Swope received a letter from San Mateo County AlA stating <br />their organization's interest in providing various services. The letter was <br />given to Director Griffiths for further attention. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - DISCUSSION OF LETTER FROM A YSO <br /> <br />Recrea tion Supervisor Bill Wooten said he reviewed the letter from A YSO <br />offering to pay for field renovation costs for the Kennedy School ballfield. He <br />explained he was at a field assignment meeting in February when Jed Dugish <br />of AYSO inquired about AYSO helping pay to renovate Kermedy School <br />soccer fields if the Park Division performed the work, similar to what they did <br />with Little League. Mr. Dugish asked how much it would cost and <br />Supervisor Wooten stated he would need to check with the Park Division <br />staff to obtain the necessary cost information. Mr. Dugish agreed to check <br />with Frank Hartman of the Redwood City Elementary School District to get <br />permission for the field renovation and to find out the status of the irrigation <br />system at Kennedy School ballfield.
