<br />- ~ <br />III <br /> <br />-,J <br />. <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF APRIL 24, 1996 <br /> <br />CO MMI S S lONERS PRESENT: Chairperson T rusee lli, C ommissi oners <br />Davis, Hughes, Morton, Nordness, Swope <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner 51 usser <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Supervisor Jan Knight, Management Analyst Ramon <br />Aguilar, Vince Truscelli <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Marc Seleznow, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Pauline Truscelli at 7:30pm in Room 5 of the <br />Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br />California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope asked that corrections be made to the March minutes. <br />Under "Announcements", in the first paragraph, fourth sentence, the word <br />"She" should be replaced with "The representative", Also under <br />"Announcements", the fifth paragraph should read, "Chairperson Swope <br />mentioned the session she attended at the CPRS Conference presented by Sea <br />WorId which spoke about co rpo ration / city P artnershi p s and she inquired <br />about having shared playing fields in Redwood City". The minutes were <br />approved as corrected. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />The Commissioners received a copy of a letter from Police Chief Bolanos to <br />David Rogers regarding the City's efforts in handling of alcohol and dogs in <br />the parks. <br /> <br />ITEM 1- UNION CEMETERY <br /> <br />Management Analyst Ramon Aguilar said a request was received from <br />Clifford Maguire to exhume the remains of his infant son that are buried at <br />Union Cemetery. The urn was buried in 1945 in the family plot belonging to <br />his late wife. The application was reviewed and approved by the Historic <br />Resources Advisory Committee on Apri111, 1996 and now needs the <br />approval of the Park and Recreation Commission. Mr. Aguilar noted the <br />burial does not show up on any list of Union Cemetery. The Commissioners <br />were provided with a copy of Mr. Maguire's application, a map of the plot and <br /> <br /> <br />
