<br />... <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2003 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Vice Chairperson Yapp, Commissioners <br />Davis, Joseph, Morton, Swope, and Truscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Chairperson Walsh <br /> <br />TEEN ADVISORY BOARD PRESENT: None <br /> <br />YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD PRESENT: None <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli, Beth Beach, Dick Nelson, Betty Travers <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Superintendent Gary Hover, <br />Superintendent Chris Beth, Recreation Manager Adilah Haqq, Secretary <br />Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Vice Chairperson Bob Yapp at 7:30pm in Room 1 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The July minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-There was no correspondence. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />( <br />, . <br />. <br /> <br />¡ <br /> <br />Betty Travers, 27 Lowell Street, spoke about recent activity at Stafford Park <br />and suggested that the park be monitored by City staff and that we rent out <br />picnic tables like the City of San Carlos. She felt that the revenue collected <br />from the picnic table rental would help fund the cost of paying staff to <br />monitor the park. Vice Chairperson Yapp told Mrs. Travers that the <br />Commission would take it under advisement. Mrs. Travers said she wanted a <br />letter resolving the issue sent to the Edgewood Park Neighborhood <br />Association with a copy to her. <br /> <br />The following items' were taken out of order: <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - REDWOOD SHORES LAGOONS BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The Commissioners were provided with a document, prepared by Director <br />Centeno, with the history of the Redwood Shores lagoons.
