PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2004 COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES BUILDING 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Room 1 Redwood City, CA 94061 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Yapp, Commissioners Morton (arrived at 8:15 p.m.), Slusser, Swope, Truscelli and White COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Joseph GUESTS PRESENT: Beth Beach STAFF PRESENT: Superintendents Gary Hover and Chris Beth and Director Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise Monroe CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Yapp called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes, for the July 2004 Regular Meeting of the Commission, were accepted, with Commissioner Swope noting she would ask the Secretary to correct two typographical errors, CORRESPONDENCE Commissioners received a copy of the report from Youth Infusion Director Sara Schulman with respect to how youth can be more involved in policy making in Redwood City. Ms. Schulman will be invited to present her findings at a future Commission meeting. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Beth Beach asked for clarification on the boat enclosure item which will come before the Commission in September with respect to which groups were included in the motion to direct Stanford Kayak and Paddling to seek approval and how any decision on the enclosure related to the Lagoon Moratorium and the lagoon' usage guidelines proposed by the community. Chairperson Yapp clarified that the same three grou ps that gave their approval to the existing revocable permit, Redwood Shores Owners Association, Redwood Shores Community Association and Redwood Shores Design Board, were the groups involved.
