Division 1 of Article I of Chapter 25 of the <br />Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repealed. <br /> SECTION 2. Division 1 is hereby added to Article I, <br /> <br />Chapter 25 of the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />"Division 1. <br /> <br />In General <br /> <br />"Section 25.1 <br /> <br />Purpose. <br /> <br />The purpose of this division <br /> <br />is to regulate the use of parks and other recreation <br /> <br />facilities of the City for the optimum use and enjoyment <br /> <br />of residents of Redwood City; to establish standards to <br /> <br />prevent the misuse and destruction of the facilities; to <br /> <br />establish regulations to promote the safety and comfort of <br /> <br />users of the facilities as well as persons residing or <br /> <br />owning property in the vicinity of the facilities. <br /> <br />"Section 25.1.1 <br /> <br />Definitions. <br /> <br />For the purpose of this <br /> <br />division the following terms, phrases, words, abbreviations <br /> <br />and their derivations shall have the meaning given herein. <br /> <br />"(a) <br /> <br />"Park", "Parks", "Park Building" or "Recreation Area" <br />shall mean all grounds, roadways, avenues, parks, <br />playgrounds, buildings and public areas under City <br />jurisdiction used for park and recreation purposes. <br /> <br />" (b) <br /> <br />"Commission" shall mean the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission appointed by the City Council. <br /> <br />"(c) <br /> <br />"Department" shall mean the Parks and Recreation <br />Department of Redwood City. <br /> <br />1660 <br />
