WHJM: EAW: ea 1/13/64 , 15 c, ORDINANCE NO. :1:1 .14 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 785 RELATING TO PROCEEDINGS UNDER THE PARKING DISTRICT LAW OF 1951, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY The Council of the City of Redwood City do ordain as follows: Section 1. Ordinance No. 785, entitled An Ordinance Relating to Proceedings Heretofore or Hereafter Taken Pursuant to the Parking District Law of 1951, adopted January 17, 1955, is amended by adding Sections 19 through 28, inclusive, numbered, and to read as follows: 19. Inclusion of Territory. Territory contiguous to a district created pursuant to this ordinance or to a street which is contiguous thereto may be annexed thereto pursuant to Sections 20 through 28 hereof. 20. Petition. The owners of real property owning not less than fifty-one per cent (51%) in assessed value of the tax- able real property in the territory described therein, as shown on the last equalized tax roll on which taxes for the City are collected, and owning taxable land therein constituting not less than fifty-one per cent (51%) of the total area of all taxable land therein, may petition the Council for the annexation of said territory to a district. 21. Resolution of Preliminary Determination and of Inten- tion. The Council shall adopt a Resolution of Preliminary Determin- ation and of Intention in which it shall preliminarily determine that the public interest, convenience and necessity require and that it intends to annex territory, describing its boundaries and referring to the district by title and by reference to the ordinance by which it was created.
