Learn why this is important <br />Hi Yessika, <br />I am planning to attend the council meeting tonight to deliver my comment in person, but just <br />in case, please see below. <br />If you do need to read it, in the interest of time, you can summarize the table I included to say <br />that the only change to the proposed rotation would be that Council member Howard moves <br />up in the rotation to follow Council member Sturken. <br />Thank you <br />Rona <br />Begin forwarded message: <br />From: RONA GUNDRUM <ronalgundrum@mac.com> <br />Subject: Agenda item 7 - Council transition <br />Date: December 9, 2024 at 12:14:26 PM PST <br />To: council@redwoodcity.org, MGR-Melissa Stevenson Diaz <br /><mdiaz@redwoodcity.org> <br />Dear Mayor Gee and members of City Council, <br />On December 12, 2022, in accordance with Section 1.f of City Council Policy <br />2019-02, the Mayor and Vice Mayor were selected to align the Mayor terms with <br />even year elections. <br />At that time, Staff and the Governance sub-committee were also directed to <br />determine what modifications may be necessary to effectively implement the <br />Policy in the future. <br />The current Policy indicates that incoming Council members be placed in the <br />rotation after incumbents who have not yet served as Mayor, and ahead of <br />incumbents who have served as Mayor during their uninterrupted service. <br />I feel that placing newly elected members ahead of members who previously <br />served as Mayor that were elected during the previous election cycle should be <br />reevaluated. <br />Other factors to consider in the Mayoral rotation should include: <br />1. if that council member in the previous election receives a greater majority <br />of the vote from their district, and
