ATTY/RESO.0017/CC RESO OUTDOOR BUSINESS ACTIVITY PROGRAM GUIDELINES <br />REV: 03-03-25 JB <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16283 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AMENDING THE 2019 ENGINEERING STANDARDS FOR THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY BY REPEALING AND REPLACING <br />ATTACHMENT V - THE OUTDOOR BUSINESS ACTIVITY PROGRAM <br />GUIDELINES, UNDER PART XII, WITHIN VOLUME III: DESIGN <br />CRITERIA <br />WHEREAS, on November 25, 2019, the City Council adopted Resolution No. <br />15802 approving those certain documents entitled “Standard Technical Specifications”, <br />“City Standard Details”, and “Design Criteria” collectively described as “Engineering <br />Standards for the City of Redwood City”; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 27, 2022, the City Engineer recommended amending the <br />Engineering Standards for the City of Redwood City to add the Outdoor Business Activity <br />Program Guidelines as Attachment V, under Part XII, within Volume III: Design Criteria; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Outdoor Business Activity Program Guidelines provide <br />businesses guidelines to construct, install, or implement Parklets and/or Sidewalk Cafes, <br />and incorporate a cohesive design throughout the City of Redwood City to enable an <br />attractive streetscape environment; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer recommends repealing the Outdoor Business <br />Activity Program Guidelines dated May 9, 2022, to replace them with the Outdoor <br />Business Activity Program Guidelines Updated March 10, 2025, attached as Exhibit A; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed and considered the proposed amendment <br />to repeal the Outdoor Business Activity Program Guidelines dated May 9, 2022, and <br />replace them with the Outdoor Business Activity Program Guidelines Updated March 10, <br />2025, attached as Exhibit A. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The Outdoor Business Activity Program Guidelines dated May 9, 2022, <br />included as Attachment V, under Part XII, within Volume III: Design Criteria of the <br />Redwood City Engineering Standards are hereby repealed and replaced with the Outdoor <br />Business Activity Program Guidelines Updated March 10, 2025 (“Revised Program <br />Guidelines”), attached as Exhibit A hereto and on file with the City of Redwood City’s <br />Engineering and Transportation Department. Nothing herein contained shall be deemed <br />to limit the authority of this City Council, or any commission, board or officer of the City to <br />require higher or different standards as may be otherwise duly authorized or required.
