Learn why this is important <br />Date: 05/08/2025 <br />From: Redwood City Homeowners <br />Dear: Mayor, Council and Supervisors: <br />We are writing to bring to your attention the pressing issue of the lack of essential citycode enforcement in our community and concerns of noise nuisance handling by theRedwood City Police Department and the City of Redwood City. As concernedresidents, we believe it is crucial to address this matter of Public Health and Safety to <br />enhance the overall well-being and quality of life for the residents of Redwood City. <br />Our community has been experiencing a significant lack of police service for thesecommunity matters. All calls for Noise nuisance such as loud music, Barking Dogsare completely ignored, not prioritized and not handled by the Sergeants/Police <br />Officers. Please include these public comment concerns in your upcoming meetingagenda. <br />There is no watch commander on duty as the city states, the Lieutenant leavesaround 2 pm. There is no community officer on duty. There is no animal <br />control/humane officer. Sergeants are unaware of city codes, and not enforcing noisenuisance ordinance, citations for residential noise and barking dogs noise nuisance: <br />CHAPTER 24 - NOISE REGULATION[1] (Ord. No. 1999, § 1, 7-24-89) <br />Sec. 24.2. - <br />precision sound-level meter, <br />1. Thirty (30) dBA for interior noise in Section 24.20B; <br />2. Forty (40) dBA in all other sections. <br />When responding to these noise nuisance calls in the community Sergeants havemade the below excuses to various residents: <br />1.Regarding loud music Sergeants say this is a free country and people canplay loud music outdoors. They make the judgement at their own discretionand bias and call the music normal when it is at a very high dBA. They do not
