<br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR <br /> <br />SHARED FIRE MARSHAL SERVICES <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT ("Agreement") made and entered into this day of August 9,2010 <br />by and between the BELMONT-SAN CARLOS FIRE DEPARTMENT, a Joint Powers <br />Agreement, ("Fire JPA") and the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation of the <br />State of California ("City"). <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City and the Fire JP A provide mandated fire and life safety prevention <br />services, fire investigation, and fire prevention management services; and <br /> <br />WHERAS, the City and Fire JP A wish to implement "Shared Fire Marshal" Services in <br />order to provide the most efficient fire marshal services to the City and the Fire JP A. <br /> <br />NOW, THERFORE, it is hereby agreed by the parties hereto as follows: <br /> <br />1. Scope of Shared Fire Marshal Services. The Fire JP A shall provide the City an <br />employee of the Fire JP A to <br />a. develop and maintain the City's Fire Prevention related programs as defined <br />below: <br />· Fire and Life Safety Code management services to the Chief of the City <br />Fire Department and City staff <br />· Fire Code, Company Inspection Management <br />· Origin and Cause Fire Investigation procedures <br />· Fire Plan review management <br />· Public Information Officer duties <br />· Department staff training in fire code inspection processes and procedures <br />b. Fire JP A initially delegates its current Fire Marshal, Jim Palisi, to provide <br />Shared Fire Marshal services under this Agreement. <br />c. Chief of the Fire JP A will continue to provide overall supervision of the <br />Shared Fire Marshal. In the event of a conflict between direction given by <br />Fire JP A Chief and City Fire Chief, the Fire JP A Chief and the City Chief will <br />meet and use their best efforts to resolve the conflict. <br /> <br />2. Term of the Agreement. This Agreement shall become effective upon execution by <br />both parties and shall continue in full force and effect until terminated in writing by <br />either party pursuant to Section 10, Termination. <br />
