RD-94-23 RD 94-23 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY SELECTING DEVELOPER FOR PROJECT AT <br /> NORTHEASTERLY CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF <br /> EL CAMINO REAL AND JEFFERSON AVENUE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City, <br />pursuant to authority set forth in the Government Code, adopted a <br />specific plan dated June 1, 1994, for the northeasterly corner of <br />E1 Camino Real and Jefferson Avenue (the "Property"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Agency adopted such specific plan as the <br />redevelopment plan (the "Plan"! for the Property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Property is located within the Project Area of <br />the Agency and is adjacent on two sides to the Sequoia Station <br />Project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Executive Director, pursuant to direction of <br />this Board, has conducted the Owner Participation Process <br />pursuant to rules of the Agency, to determine whether any owner, <br />tenant, or optionee of the Property, or the owner of the Sequoia <br />Station Project, was interested in developing the Property in <br />conformance with the Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the period for responding to the invitation to <br />participate has expired and the only person or entity that <br />submitted a response was Safeway Inc., owner and developer of the <br />Sequoia Station Project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the development proposal submitted by Safeway Inc. <br />is responsive to the invitation to participate, and Safeway Inc. <br />has proven itself a responsible developer in connection with the <br />Sequoia Station Project; <br /> <br /> <br />
