Program Committee Report ( cont . ) <br /> in response to requests for a softball program for this age group who <br /> are not participating in Little League either due to lack of interest <br /> or skill . This program would offer an alternative . It would be con - <br /> ducted by adult volunteers and supervised by the Parks and Recreation <br /> Department . The format would follow closely to the highly successful <br /> " Peppermint Patty " program for girls . Attempts will be made to conduct <br /> the program utilizing present resources . The Committee concurred <br /> with the program . <br /> The Committee then discussed the City ' s method of subsidization of the <br /> Little League program . The staff indicated that during the budget pro - <br /> ces ? for fiscal year 1977 -78 , they would be preparing for consideration <br /> various alternatives such as per capita basis , team basis , or league <br /> allocation . These have been discussed with the Little League repre- <br /> sentatives for their input . The staff will report back to the Committee <br /> in subsequent meetings as to the decisions regarding these methods . <br /> -7 - <br />
