PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br /> DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> JANUARY 1977 <br /> Palm Park <br /> The trees have now been received which were ordered for the Redwood <br /> City Rotary Club planting project in Palm Park . Arrangements are <br /> being made with the club to combine the tree planting of the park <br /> with the Arbor Day activities if weather and ground conditions are <br /> favorable at that time for the planting . <br /> Redwood Shores Park Development <br /> The grading which was underway for the construction of Dolphin Parks <br /> I , II , and III and for the first phase of Marlin II Park was delayed <br /> sixteen working days as a result of rain which fell the latter part <br /> of December and the first part of January . Grading has now been <br /> resumed , however , and is nearly complete . The installation of the <br /> irrigation system is now planned for the first part of February after <br /> which final soil preparation will be completed for the planting . Con- <br /> struction of the tennis courts in the Dolphin II area will be initiated <br /> in the middle of February . The total project is estimated to be approxi - <br /> mately 20% completed . <br /> Mezes Park <br /> The rain during the first part of the year delayed the completion of the <br /> restrooms and multi -purpose courts at Mezes Park . The restroom fixtures <br /> have now been installed and the structure is being prepared for painting . <br /> Final inspection of the Phase II construction of Mezes Park should take <br /> place around the middle of February . <br /> Red Morton Park <br /> The construction of the restroom at Red Morton Park is nearly complete . <br /> The painting of the building and the staining of the wood siding is com- <br /> plete and this facility should be ready for final inspection the first <br /> part of February . <br /> -8 - <br />
