TO : Parks & Recreation Commission <br /> FROM : Community and Commission Relations Committee- Chairperson Schlesinger <br /> DATE : March 7 , 1977 <br /> SUBJECT : STATUS REPORT <br /> The Community and Commission Relations Committee met on March 7 , 1977 . <br /> Those present were Commissioners Schlesinger and Pound . Commissioner <br /> Hayes was absent . <br /> The Committee met in order to initiate their review of the Commission ' s <br /> manual which was completed a couple of years ago . The present manual <br /> was discussed and the various sections were reviewed . It was felt that <br /> there should be additional educational information placed into the manual <br /> for use by the Commissioners . Information relative to the role of the <br /> Commissioner , various rules and regulations and additional fact sheets <br /> concerning other Parks and Recreation organizations was discussed . A <br /> list of possible additions was made and this material will be collected <br /> and distributed to the Commissioners for inclusion into their manual . <br /> The Committee also discussed various ways and means of broadening the <br /> Commission ' s committee membership so as to include additional citizens <br /> on the committees . It was pointed out that this had been accomplished <br /> some in the past ; however , there should be a greater effort made in <br /> order to receive greater input . The possibility of holding additional <br /> neighborhood meetings concerning the various programs and operations <br /> of the Department was also discussed . The Committee agreed to continue <br /> their discussion of these items at future meetings and to arrive at a <br /> plan of action for implementation . <br /> -5 - <br />
