RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT <br /> MAY 1977 <br /> COMMUNITY LEISURE SERVICES <br /> Roving Leaders ( K- 6 ) <br /> Our Roving Leader crew operated its successful program of " New Games " , <br /> tye-dying , cage ball , arts and crafts at Washington , Fair Oaks and <br /> Garfield during the first 2 weeks of May . Approximately 50 - 75 stu - <br /> dents participated daily in the program at each school . <br /> Day Camp <br /> The staff was selected for the summer and the Camp Director and several <br /> selected counselors were asked to participate in the organization of <br /> the in - service training program . They reviewed materials and met with <br /> the Supervisors on four ( 4 ) occasions to work on the training program <br /> and also gather material to upgrade our Day Camp Manual . Formal staff <br /> training will take place from June 21st through 24th with camp scheduled <br /> to begin on June 27th . <br /> Wilderness Camp <br /> The staff has been selected and the in- service training program set up <br /> for Sam McDonald Park on June 15 through 19 . <br /> Again this year we will be working closely with the Redwood City Ele - <br /> mentary Summer School program and have reserved five ( 5 ) sessions for <br /> summer school participants . The final three ( 3 ) weeks of camp will <br /> be open to all residents and their friends . We are looking forward <br /> to a highly successful season with the addition of our two Junior <br /> High School weeks . <br /> - 11 - <br />
