The Forestry Section personnel continue with their efforts to reduce <br /> the backlog of forestry work orders which resulted from the crew being <br /> half strength for approximately three months . All vacant positions <br /> have now been filled and together with working on the special orders , <br /> the crews are involved in a systematic block trimming program in the <br /> 1800 and 1900 blocks of Woodside Road as schedules permit . <br /> Joing the Forestry Section this month as a Tree Trimmer is Bernard <br /> Noonan . Mr . Donald Cox will join the section as a Tree Trimmer the <br /> first of August . Both appointees have extensive background in arbori - <br /> culture . Mr . Noonan represented the City of Redwood City at the 1st <br /> Annual Northern California Tree Trimmers Jamboree held in Washington <br /> Park , Burlingame , California . Mr . Noonan placed first in overall <br /> competition and Park Equipment Operator Richard Jenkins and Park <br /> Supervisor Peter Griffiths placed 3rd in the Two -man Log Sawing <br /> Contest . Mr . Noonan will be competing in the Southern California <br /> Tree Trimmers Jamboree held in Templeton , California , on the weekend <br /> of July 30 and 31 , 1977 . <br /> - 10- <br />
