RECREATION DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT <br /> JULY 1977 <br /> COMMUNITY LEISURE SERVICES <br /> Playground Program- There is a general increase of playground parti - <br /> cipants this year over last and all playgrounds are in full swing . <br /> The highlight of this month was the very successful Penny Carnivals <br /> held at each playground in the City . <br /> Da Cam - This year , as in the past , the Tiny Timbers Program ( ages <br /> 4-6 was a great success . The number of participants has increased <br /> from 45 to 55 per week and most sessions were full . One of the <br /> highlights of the Tiny Timbers Program was a visit by Mother Nature , <br /> Snoopy and Smokey the Bear . The children were really impressed and <br /> many parents commented on how much the children enjoyed these visits . <br /> Wilderness Camp- The first five weeks of camp , which is co- sponsored <br /> by the Redwood City Elementary School District , attracted an average <br /> of 44 children per session . The camp which stresses self-awareness <br /> of nature is doing very well . <br /> - 11 - <br />
