(Attachment 2) <br /> Council Member Foust encouraged Abbott to look at childcare facilities sooner <br /> than Phase III, if at all possible. Council Member Hartnett stated that the zoning <br /> text amendment presents a broader public policy interest than this particular <br /> project. He further explained that the Library <br /> Foundation has committed to raising $800,000.00 to purchase the opening day <br /> collection at the library. <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Kathleen Douglas, President of the Library Board, speaking on behalf of the Board <br /> of Trustees, thanked the Council for the support and asked approval of the <br /> proposal. She stated that it is a very important part of the extension of programs <br /> and services and that Redwood Shores, at this point in time, is an underserved <br /> part of our city in regards to library services. <br /> Rory Faber, Secretary of the Redwood Shores Community Association, thanked <br /> and congratulated the Council.
