Chairman Schlesinger reviewed for the• men what had tra.nspi.red <br /> earl�ier in the meeting regarding the tank at Mezes Park. <br /> Mr. Weeks reviewed for Mr. Rohr and Mr. Wells that the l.etter from Mr. <br /> ' Littlefield was sent to the Council asking for consideration for the <br /> purchase of the tank: The Council , in turn, forwarded the letter to � � <br /> ' the Parks & Recreation Commission for recommendations. Mr. Weeks <br /> informed the gentlemen that Mr. Littlefield had been at the meeting <br /> earlier and that he is sincere in his intentions. Mr. Weeks expressed <br /> regret that the American Legion representatives were not present during <br /> Mr. Littlefield's discussion. <br /> Mr. Rohr suggested that the Commission and the City officials meet - <br /> with 'the Corr�nander from Post 105 and his Committee to discuss this <br /> matter. Mr. Weeks stated that the City Council would be receiving <br /> the Comnission's recommendations and that any further meetings on <br /> ' the matter would be the decision of the Council . <br /> Mr. Rohr indicated that the American Legion did not want the tank sold <br /> and if the City wanted it off their property the Legion would move it <br /> to their building on �1 Camino Real . <br /> The option of selling the tank for scrap was discussed, however, the <br /> Commission felt it would be better to restore the tank, so that it <br /> could be a useful object. The recommendation that the Commission had <br /> made earlier in the meeting was reviewed. After considerable discussion, <br /> Commissioner Schlesinger suggested ' that an amendment be put to the motion <br /> stating that the American Legion would like to meet with the Council <br /> before a final decision is made. <br /> ' � Mr. Weeks suggested an option: to proceed with the Commission's recom- <br /> mendation and transfer.that information along with additional research <br /> information and the opinions from the City Attorney's Office to the <br /> Council and state the American Legion's desire for further meetings <br /> : with the Council and at that time the Council can decide their course <br /> of action. This was agreeable to both Mr. Wells and Mr. Rohr. Chair- <br /> man Schlesinger thanked Mr. Rohr and Mr. Wells for attending the <br /> meeting. <br /> REPORTS <br /> � REPORT ITEM 1 . Design & Development Committee <br /> MOTION: Corr�nissioner Pound moved, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Hayes, to accept the Design & Development Committee <br /> Report.
