ROUND TABLE
Commissioner Weintraub indicteti that the trimming done. at. the island
at Highland and Jefferson looked very good and the visibility has
improved.
Commissioner Hayes inquired as to the status of the tank. IMr. Weeks
indicated that the Department ha$ nearly completed the research and
the informatio.n will be reported to the Council as soon as possible.
Commissioner Weintraub reported on the Flanning Department's neighbor-
hood meeting that took place in the Canyon Park neighborhood. She
indicated it was very interesting and that there were a number of
people there. Most of the corrunents wre very favorable about the
parks in the City. .
Commissioner Weintraub also reported that She attended the California
& Pacific Southwest Park & Recreation Conference in Fresno. The special
sessions that she attended were very helpful .
Commissioner Castle inquired if the Cpmmission had ever discussed the
"Alternatives to Jogging" courses. It Was pointed out that there had
been discussion about these courses in he pa$t, particularly when
planning for the Hetch-Hetchy dvelopment and Canyon Park. Bil Paulson
indicated that the J.C. Pnny Cpmpany has a public service program that
will donate materials to an agency. There are 18 stations alorg the
route. The JayGees normally sponsor these dvelopmer►ts with J.C. Penny
and the public agency. There ar nQ Jaycees in the area. Mr. falt
Small , from J.C. Penny in Redwood City, is checking to see i another
agency other than the Jaycees cou1d sponsor his. Perhaps direct spon-
soring with the City is possible. Other problems to be solved would
be maintenance of the apparatuS and area involved.
MOTION: There being no furthe'r business, Commissioner
Hayes moved, seconded by Commissioner Cast7e,
to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried
unanimously by vbice vote and the meetinc was
adjourned at 10:10 p.m.
-5-
