� � � <br /> . . � <br /> PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br /> DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> JULY 1978 <br /> Redwood Shores <br /> The C�ty Council at their meeting of July 17, 1978, awarded the contract <br /> for the landscaping and turfing of the new park areas in Redwood Shores. <br /> The contract was awarded to B & B Landscaping of �lountain View. <br /> A preconstruction meeting has been held with the contractor in order to <br /> arrive at tentative schedules for completion of the work. It is anti- <br /> cipated that the work will be underway by the second week of August and <br /> will be completed by the middle of October. This work will complete <br /> the parks as currently planned. <br /> Palm Park <br /> The delay in the delivery of materials continues to hold up initiating <br /> the construction work of the second phase of Palm Park. The contractor <br /> indicates that work should be underway by the second week of August if <br /> delivery schedules are met. <br /> Canyon Park <br /> The applications for the proposed transfer of the 1976 State Park Bond <br /> Funds from the Canyon Park Project to the Red Morton Community Pool Pro- <br /> ject have been completed. The City Council , at their meeting of August <br /> 7, 1978, will consider the applications for the transfer and if approved, <br /> the information will be forwarded to the S�ate for processing. <br /> The State Representat�ve indicates that if the proposed legislation being <br /> sponsored by Senator Roberti is approved, which will authorize the transfer <br /> of State funds to other qualifying projects in fiscal year 1978-79, the <br /> funds for the Community Pool Project may possibly be available in September <br /> of 1978. <br /> -5- <br />
