, � <br /> � � <br /> �,,,� � <br /> PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br /> DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> SEPTEMBER 1978 <br /> Redwood Shores <br /> The turfing and landscape work for the new parks at Redwood Shores has <br /> now been completed. The walkways have been installed together with all <br /> of the play equipment, benches, etc. required for the job. The project <br /> is now in the maintenance period awaiting the final acceptance of the <br /> project. <br /> Palm Park <br /> The new fencing is now being installed which will separate the adjacent <br /> private property from the park. The play apparatus is now scheduled for <br /> delivery the second week of October and installation should follow <br /> promptly upon its receipt. Additionally, the picnic tables and the <br /> shelter are being assembled for installation at the site. <br /> Canyon Park <br /> The application for State funds from the SB174 Block Grant Program was <br /> approved by the City Council at their meeting of September 11 , 1978. <br /> The application has been forwarded to the State Department of Parks & <br /> Recreation for their review and approval . Indications are that the <br /> application is complete and that the contract for the funding will <br /> soon be forwarded to the City for acceptance. A planning advance <br /> will then be requested in order that work can proceed with the work- <br /> ing drawings for the construction of the park. <br /> Red Morton Park <br /> The working drawings for the installation of the new lighting at the <br /> ball fields have been completed and are now being reviewed prior to <br /> final preparation for contract purposes. The workings drawings for <br /> the play apparatus area and the picnic area are approximately 80% <br /> complete. Upon final preparation, the plans and specifications for <br /> these elements of the project must be reviewed by the State prior to <br /> calling for bids. In that the project is being funded by the 1974 <br /> State Park Bond Act funds, their approval is necessary after which <br /> 90� of the funds are available for initial construction purposes. <br /> �3- <br />
