. , <br /> Since that time the laws were amended to broaden the scope of bingo playing; <br /> however, problems still existed with respect to senior groups and others <br /> using public facilities for bingo. On the advise of the Police Department <br /> and the City Attorney, this matter was brought to the attention of all groups <br /> utilizing recreation facilities. It was pointed out that the City Attorney's <br /> office is currently studying the matter in order to clearify the situation. <br /> Additionally, it was suggested the Cor�nission reconsider their previous action <br /> in order to allow qualified groups to play bingo in the recreation buildings <br /> provided they complied with all laws pretaining thereto. <br /> At the conclusion of the discussion the following action was taken: <br /> MOTION: Commissioner Castle moved, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Weintraub that the staff should proceed to find ways <br /> and means to allow qualified groups as specified in the <br /> law to utilize the recreation facilities for bingo. <br /> The motion passed by voice vote with four (4) ayes and <br /> one (1 ) no. <br /> ROUND TABLE <br /> Commissioner Weintraub suggested that a letter be written to the City Council <br /> stating the Commission's appreciation of the Christmas Dinner they held for <br /> City Commissioners and Committees. Mr. Weeks indicated he would prepare <br /> such a letter. It was the consensus of the Commission to have each Commissioner's <br /> signature on the letter. <br /> MOTION: There being no further business, Commissioner Hayes moved, <br /> seconded by Commissioner Castle, to adjourn the meeting. <br /> The motion passed unanimously by voice vote and the meeting <br /> was adjourned at 9:25 p.m. <br /> -4- <br />
