Open Space Co�ittee <br /> Mr. Knecht said the Committee has spent a lot of time studying the Park� and <br /> Recreati.on plan. The Chairman said he hopes this com�ittee will make recommenda- <br /> tions in the coming months as to priorities over the next five years, or a <br /> minimum of three years. <br /> Mr. Guida asked whether property adjoining cemetery would be con�idered as open <br /> space, It will be considered. <br /> 3. Desi�n and Development Conanittee <br /> Mr. Weeks reported he had met today with a member of the Highlands Coffirnunity <br /> Club, who feels the club would be receptive to releasing aurF$ee rights an the <br /> HeCch Aetchy right-of-way between Massachusetts and Carson Streetsa <br /> 4. Co�unitv Relations <br /> Mrs. Pound explained further the re�ision of the Code of Ethicso <br /> S. Monthlv 8eparts <br /> Mr. Weeks discussed the joint meetings which he had scheduled with the Sta�e of <br /> California. Fish and Wildlife Service a:zd Mabil Oil E�tates planr�e�s. <br /> A new Park Foreman has now been hired. Mr. Peter Grif£iths is a young man recently <br /> out of the Navy, trained in all types of maintenance, pZanning, etc. �Ie hav a <br /> degree in Park Administration from Massachusetts Uni,versity and has been in all <br /> phases of work in ehe National Park Service. He has been a consultant in the <br /> Ventura area in treu work, landscaping, etc. Mr, Weeks was conmmended by the <br /> Co�►ission for his part in securing a man of this caliber for the department. <br /> Mr. Rollins made the motion, seconded by Mr. Knecht, that the monthly reports be <br /> accepted. <br /> Mr. K.necht reported on the Waterfront Committee meeting. He reported land uses <br /> have been determined and will be forthcoming in a hrochure. <br /> -� !� . <br />
