� � <br /> ' '�'v � <br /> PARK DIVISION MONTHLY REPORT <br /> FEBRUARY 1976 <br /> Foreman: Luis Hernandez <br /> The Red Morton Community Park crew renovated the turf areas at Veterans <br /> Memorial Building during January. This will substantially improve the visual <br /> beauty of the area while allowing for more effective turf maintenance. <br /> � <br /> Phase II of Red Morton Community Park has been completed and the new areas <br /> constructed during thi� phase have been added to the Park Division's main- <br /> tenance responsibilities. This includes maintenance of tennis courts, all <br /> new shrub and turf areas as well as the ball diamond at McGarvey Field. <br /> During the month Park Maintenance Crews removed 1300 feet o� cyclone fence <br /> at the west and south ends of the 49er Field. This will allow the contractor <br /> to begin construction on the portable fencing which will be used during the <br /> football season. <br /> The Southside Crew completed the renovation and reseeding of Hawes Park Field <br /> in preparation for the upcoming softball season. <br /> All parks and school grounds maintenance personnel had an opportunity to <br /> attend the Annual Northern California Landscape Exposition at the San Mateo <br /> County Fairgrounds. The Exposition was held January 23 and 29, with half <br /> of the personnel attending from 9:00 A.P�. to Noon on the 28th and the remain- <br /> der attending at those times on the second day. The Exposition is to acquaint <br /> all landscape maintenance personnel with new tools, equipment and materials <br /> which are available. <br /> The Redwood Shores crew has completed the aerification of turf areas at <br /> Marine World, Bridge and Peninsula Parkways. It is anticipated that aerifica- <br /> tion will correct soil compaction problems experienced in these areas. <br /> File 25.5.5 <br /> -12- <br />
