. ,✓
  .
RECREATIDN DIVISION MONTHLY REPORTS
FEBRUARY 1976
COMMUNITY LEISURE SERVICES
Supervisor: Don Burtz . - .
After-School Sports (Grades 4-6)
Highlights of the January program included a number of high-spirited, well
coached basketball games for both boys and girls. Scores of many games have
been close and several went into overtime, which indicates a balanced league.
Coaches continue to teach basic fundamentals where sportsmanship, fun and
low key competition are stressed.
After-School Sports (Grades 7-8)
A highly successful basketball program is in full swing for both boys and girls.
Teams representing the three Junior High School Areas play games twice weekly
and the season has been half completed. Tournaments are slated for next month.
Roving Leaders (Spring Programs)
Currently a task force of leaders representing both elementary and Junior
High age groups are meeting independently to plan programs of special events
for each age level during the spring season (March thru April ) .
This Roving Leader concept is new and much thought is going into the initial
planning and logistics process. All efforts will be thoroughly evaluated on
an "on-going" basis.
File 21 .5.3
-14-
