VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING <br /> Senior Fun Days on Sundays <br /> This month the Parks and Recreation Department started a Sunday Program <br /> for Senior Citizens on the 14th and 28th of March . Activities included : <br /> live bands ( very popular ) for dancing or listening , oldie records , cards , <br /> pool , board games and refreshments . The Veterans Memorial Building was <br /> open from 12 : 00 Noon to 4 : 00 P . M . On the 14th about 25 people attended , <br /> but on the 28th almost 70 were here . The next Fun day coming up is April <br /> 11th . Projected program plans include : salad toss , potluck , old time <br /> movies , lectures , crafts , etc . in addition to the live music . <br /> Town Meeting for Seniors <br /> On March 26th , Dixon Arnett held a Town Meeting for Senior Citizens here <br /> at the Veterans Memorial Building from 1 : 30 to 4 : 00 P . M . About 50 <br /> interested seniors attended the meeting . <br /> San Mateo County Health Department - Seniors <br /> In cooperation with the San Mateo County Health Department and the Redwood <br /> City Parks and Recreation Department , some interesting programs are taking <br /> shape to help Seniors in the areas of : nutrition , heart disease , cancer , <br /> Alternative Life Style , Sexuality and Being 60 .
