Mr . Paulson indicated that a report to the Program Committee regarding this subject was forthcoming . Commissioner Schlesinger congratulated Superintendent Paulson on the outstand- ing article regarding the After- school Sports Program which had appeared in the Redwood City Tribune . Superintendent Paulson mentioned that he had received more positive phone calls and letters regarding the After- school Sports Program during the past year than he had in his nine previous years with the Department . Commissioner Schlesinger expressed concern as to the safety of the curved backstop at McGarvey Field . Mr . Weeks indicated that staff would look into the matter . Discussion ensued with respect to the advisability of having dual entrances to the McGarvey Field dugouts . Mr . Weeks indicated that the dugouts were specifically designed with a single entrance for control purposes . He said that staff would continue to monitor the area , and a change would be made if deemed necessary . Commissioner Wilson stated that he would not be present for the April regular commission meeting , but that he would return for the May meeting , which would be his last before moving to New Mexico . ( Commissioner Aldrich returned at 9 : 13 P . M . ) MOTION : There being no further business , Commissioner Wilson moved that the meeting be adjourned , seconded by Commissioner Aldrich . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . The meeting was adjourned at 9 : 15 P . M . - 5-
