PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT <br /> DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT <br /> MARCH 1976 <br /> Redwood Shores Park Development <br /> The General Site Plans for the Dolphin Parks I , II , and III , and for the <br /> Marlin II Park have been completed . An administrative review of the plans <br /> was completed by the Bay Conservation and Development Commission ' s Technical <br /> Advisory Committee . The general concept for the park development was <br /> approved by the Committee . Subsequent to this the plans were presented to <br /> the City Council at their meeting of March 22 , 1976 , which resulted in their <br /> approval of the General Site Plans for the long range development of the parks . <br /> The construction drawings are now under way by the consultants and their <br /> initial review has been scheduled for the second week of April . Every effort <br /> is being made to expedite the working drawing phase for these parks , which , it <br /> is hopeful , will result in an earlier bidding date for the construction of <br /> the parks . <br /> Belmont School District Site - Redwood Shores <br /> Bids were received for construction work to establish a turf field and a <br /> small ball diamond at the Belmont School District site in Redwood Shores . <br /> This effort is being accomplished by the City resultant from an agreement with <br /> the Belmont School District involving utilization of the elementary school <br /> site for recreation purposes . <br /> Upon reviewing the bids for the work , the City Council , at their meeting of <br /> March 22 , 1976 , awarded the contract to Silver Trees Landscaping , Incorporated <br /> in an amount of $39 , 500 . <br /> Pre-construction meetings have been held with the contractor , and tentative <br /> schedules call for starting the project on April 6 , 1976 . The contract calls <br /> for 45 working days to complete the work . <br /> Palm Park <br /> The City Council at their meeting of March 22 , 1976 reviewed and approved the <br /> plans and specifications for Palm Park , and authorized the call for bids for <br /> this first phase construction . The bids are due April 20 , 1976 , after which <br /> they will be reviewed and a recommendation for award will be forwarded to <br /> the City Council for their approval . It would appear that construction could <br /> be under way at this park in early May . <br /> -6- <br />
